My research focuses on exploring the interactions between media and users, including real-time processing of media messages, interactions with media technologies, and decision-making. I use psychophysiological measures to help examine these processes and effects. I am currently working on research projects exploring how various sources of communication content during media multitasking interact to impact the users’ attention, emotion, and behavior.  More generally, I am interested in modeling the dynamic relationship between bottom-up automatic cognitive responses elicited by media stimuli and top-down users’ self-generated evaluations of social experiences.
