My research is motivated by the problem of intentionality—the ‘aboutness’ of percepts, beliefs, desires, and other mental states. I adopt an interdisciplinary approach that integrates perspectives from philosophy of mind, epistemology, philosophy of language, and cognitive science. Currently, I am investigating mental factors underlying perceptual justification for belief and judgment, including attention, cognitive penetration, perceptual learning, representational format, and consciousness, among others.
