My research focuses on speech communication in adults with hearing loss, particularly cochlear implant users. I study how auditory, cognitive, and social factors interact to shape real-world communication outcomes. My work combines behavioral experiments, patient-reported outcomes, and mixed methods approaches to identify mechanisms underlying individual differences in speech perception and to guide interventions that improve communication success and quality of life.
