My current research centers on World Language Pedagogy and on intercultural development across populations. I specialize in discipline-based education research in second language acquisition in university classrooms and on pedagogies that emphasize intercultural awareness and empathy into full-immersion language learning classrooms. I also have multiple areas of research interest in assessing cognitive and behavioral intercultural development across the curriculum and university groups, including English-language and target language COIL exchanges, faculty development, and the impact of pre-departure courses on intercultural experiences abroad.
