Lana Wiens

My research interests broadly include the neuropsychology of both normally aging populations and those with neurodegenerative diseases, such as Multiple Sclerosis and Alzheimer’s Disease. Currently, I am interested in determining the various lifestyle factors that may influence executive functioning and emotion regulation in healthy aging. Through neuroimaging investigations of activation and connectivity patterns, I hope to understand the neural mechanisms through which interventions such as mindfulness training work to improve cognitive and emotional deficits. Additionally, I am interested in determining how individual differences in mindfulness disposition may influence cognitive and affective processes in both old and young adults.
